Pasta alla vodka

I have a bottle of Russian vodka which my hubby bought in Changi Airport for my vanilla pods. It has been sitting in the store for years. Surf the net to look for any recipe that can cook with vodka and found this recipe Penne alla Vodka. Surprisingly this dish becomes my son’s favourite meal which I prepared during his O level exams.

Hakka Yong Tau Foo

I used to buy raw yong tau foo in the wet market and cooked them with bean paste sauce at home. Today I will try Hakka yong tau foo and make everything from scratch. My mother in law helped me to fry all the ingredients as I am not good at frying.

Char Siew 叉烧

I want to make char siew at home but there are so many recipes on the net that I don’t know which one to choose. Finally I choose this recipe from herworldplus which was published in Straits Times. The recipe is contributed by Ms Helen Maniam. I find her recipe is very easy and the taste is great. Here is my recipe with some modifications.

Pork Chop with Walnut Kiwi Sauce

I found this recipe from a cookbook called “The Taste from Auntie’s Kitchen”. What interest me is that the pork chop is dipped in this very nutritional and yet very fruity sauce – Walnut, kiwi and lemon.
