Something very innovative I saw from the internet to make sushi in this way. It’s a great and simple way to make tuna sushi. It requires some seasonal fruits like avocado and mango to go with the tuna sushi.

Pan fried fish with lemon butter sauce (Beurre noisette)
I need to make dishes with butter as I bought too many butter which have been kept in my freezer. I chanced upon a cooking blog recipetineat raving about this dish and how easy to make it. I’m glad that my son loves it. He asked why didn’t I cook more food at home. I learnt what is beurre noisette. It’s means hazelnut butter or browned butter, though there is no hazelnut added to it. Unsalted butter is melted over low heat and allowed to separate into butterfat and milk solids. The latter naturally sink to the bottom of the pan and, if left over gentle heat, will begin to brown. As they reach a toasty hazelnut colour and smell turns nutty, the pan is removed from the heat.

Pan Fried Salmon with Beurre Blanc Sauce
My French friend Jacqueline teaches me how to make Beurre Blanc sauce using French Bordier butter. This is my first time making this sauce which can be better. My husband and son are very supportive. I added mashed potatoes and asparagus wrapped with bacon in this dish for lunch.
I got my Bordier butter from Secret Fine shop located at 55 Tiong Bahru Road. It costs S$6.50 for 125g of butter.

Nyonya Tamarind Fried Fish
My grandma who was from Kelantan, taught my mum to cook this dish more than 30 years ago. She told my mum this was a Thai dish. I find this recipe from Wee Eng Hwa’s “Cooking for the President” and realize it is also a Nyonya dish. This fried fish is very appetizing as it has a blending flavours of sourness, sweetness and saltiness. Adapted from Wee Eng Hwa with modifications.
